Dr. Pope received his bachelor's degree in Microbiology and was a Public Health
Microbiologist in Los Angeles.
He, then, married and moved to Chicago and went to Loyola University School of Dentistry for four years. Dr. Pope was among the top ten of his graduating class and was installed as a member of OKU (the Phi Beta Kappa of dentistry). He also received the orthodontic award for excellence in his class. After graduation he served in the US Navy at Treasure Island Naval Base and was the Endodontist in the Naval Dental Clinic. He then served a year aboard the USS Hancock Aircraft Carrier off the coast of Viet Nam.
Dr. Pope settled in the bay area and has three grown children and six grandchildren.
Dr. Pope is a member of the Contra Costa Dental Society and was on the dental society board of directors and Chairman of the Dental Ethics Committee for several years.
Dr. Pope is also a member of The Academy of General Dentistry, The American Orthodontic Society, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The American Dental Association and The California Dental Association.
Dr. Pope took early retirement from his busy practice in Walnut Creek and then realized that he preferred dentistry to golf and working in his wood shop.
Dr. Pope has extensive experience with General Dentistry, Nitrous Sedation,
RootCanals ( Endodontics ), Orthodontics (Appliances or braces ),
Children's Dentistry (Pedodontics), Periodontics (gum diseases), Dental Implants,
Cosmetic Dentistry and oral surgery (extractions).
