Porcelain (ceramic) crowns and inlays look great and are now very strong.
Porcelain veneers are very conservative esthetic dental restorations. They look like your own natural teeth. With today's adhesive materials and technology, the tooth's original strength is restored. Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells made of porcelain and are designed to cover the front side of your tooth. They can be designed to fill in gaps, lighten teeth, and make a badly shaped tooth look natural.. They can correct chipped or crooked teeth and give you a beautiful smile because of their life-like tooth appearance. A small amount of tooth enamel is removed from the tooth to make room for the shell-like veneer. This is bonded to the tooth and is as strong as your natural tooth. This is a conservative way of treating esthetic problems.
If you are thinking of veneers, it would be wise to bleach your teeth before having porcelain veneers made. In this way, the porcelain veneer can match the now whitened teeth.
Tooth whitening is safe, quick and inexpensive. We take impressions of your teeth and after several days your custom whitening molds will be ready for you to pick up. The kit has a special whitening agent that you put into the clear, almost invisible, molds. You wear the molds for a couple of hours a day while the chemical removes the stains and whitens your teeth. Three to six days are usually enough. This doesn't alter or harm the tooth structure and doesn't effect existing dental work.
